Excellent steel.

If you're going to get a coarse honing steel, this is the one to get. I love the full tang of the pro handle, but 14" is simply too long for my needs(12" of the pro handle would be perfect). I compromised by cutting off a couple inches. This is a such a coarse honing steel that depending on knife hardness, it is a sharpening steel.
